HISTORIC MOMENT FOR TRADITIONAL MEDICINE - NOBEL PRIZE

Chinese scientist Tu Youyou finding a viable way to extract artemisinin , first-line treatment for malaria. CHING HAO Ching Hao, Artemisia annua , is in the category of herbs " febrífucos that transform the summer heat," alongside Kua Chi Pi ( watermelon rind ) and Ho Ye ( lotus leaf ) . Such febrífucos increase urinary flow , solve fever, interrupt the seat and promote salivation . They are good for heat stroke and heat access. Ching Hao , sweet wormwood, is active in the liver and gallbladder channels , releasing heat, remove heat deficiency, cools the blood and has bacterial effect : the aqueous extract inhibits the in vitro growth of fungi. The Director General of WHO, Dr . Margaret Chan, already quoted in the Congress of Traditional Medicine WHO (2009 ) the example of Artemisia annua to treat malaria .
